Postdoctoral Fellows
We welcome applications from individuals who hold or will hold a PhD in Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields, who are interested in developing novel biomaterials systems to study mechanobiology in organotypic cell culture models.
Ideal candidates would have significant experience with mammalian cell culture and 3D hydrogel culture systems. Experience with chemical synthesis would be beneficial. Current projects in the lab focus on neural and skeletal muscle applications, so expertise in neuronal or muscle stem cell culture would be advantageous.
Any interested candidates should contact Prof. Madl by email (cmadl@seas.upenn.edu) and provide a cover letter explaining their interest in the position, a current CV, and contact information for three references.
Graduate Students
Students interested in completing their PhD in the lab should apply to one of the University of Pennsylvania Graduate Programs in Materials Science & Engineering, in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, or in Bioengineering.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students looking to gain research experience in biomaterials and tissue engineering should contact Prof. Madl by email (cmadl@seas.upenn.edu) with a brief description of research interests and a current CV.
